Meet the Team
Our knowledgeable staff is dedicated to fostering a love for learning, promoting independence, and respecting the unique heritage of our mountain town. Because Telluride Preschool is a one-room schoolhouse, the students interact with all staff members continuously and we have been fortunate to have a very consistent staff, year in and year out.

Sam Finger is a teacher at Telluride Preschool and a longtime Telluride local who was raised in the community. She knows firsthand what it is like to grow up in this special little town and feels grateful to now support other children as they learn and grow here. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting and Original Works at Cornish College of the Arts and is currently pursuing further education in Early Childhood Education. Sam is committed to continuing to expand her knowledge and skills to provide the best possible care and learning experiences for young children.
Sam has always loved working with children and helping them build confidence, nurture their curiosity, discover new things, and let their individuality shine. Throughout her career, she has worked as a ski instructor, mentored children through drama, was a part of the DREAM program in college, and founded her own children’s drama program in Telluride and Boulder, which focused on social-emotional learning through performance and the arts.
She is excited to continue learning, growing, and supporting children’s development, while nurturing their self esteem in school.
